Artist's Statement

Painting is my breath. It defines how I exist in this world. If something hurts me, moves me, or makes me laugh it becomes an inspiration.

Art is a form of communication that reflects culture, without it society loses a great tool in understanding one another. Painting is my language. I use it to inspire, motivate, and create discourse.

People and their stories inspire me. There is little more fascinating to me than the human mind, body, and spirit. As a result my images involve portraits, nudes, and nature and their messages range from simple beauty to such topics as the harsh reality of the AIDS epidemic.

I like to paint what is beautiful. Beautiful to me is truth, knowledge, and humanity.
